New Stuff!

Hey Everyone,

There are so many things going on with our Youth Group that I thought I had better post a few of them, so we wouldn ‘t forget. They are already listed on the Activities & Events tab above, but I thought you might be able to access it better from the home page. Anyway, to start off with, we will have a Pancake Supper on Sunday, June 6th @ 5pm before the Awana Awards ceremony. We will need to be here around 3pm to cook and set up the upper fellowship hall. VBS will be June 13-18 and goes through HS, so please be inviting your friends to come and share this special week at Saddle Ridge with us. June 20th is Father’s Day!, do something special for Dad, no evening services this day. July 4th is God Bless America Day at church and youth will be doing several things to help out. July 5-10 World Changers will be here. July 17 & 31 we will have a car wash at Advance in Mayodan to raise funds for camp. July 29 is our annual youth-sponsored Blood Drive in the lower fellowship hall. Aug. 5th is Carowinds - $35.00 each and last but certainly not least is the highlight of the year in youth group, when we go the “Wilds Camp’ Aug. 9-14. As you can see we are staying busy and we are also going to plan a few prayer walks in between these activities. So, please invite your friends to come and be a part of what God is doing in and through the Woodbine Youth Group.

Thanks and have a great summer!

Mr. Tim

  • Awesome “Wilds Camp” ‘09

WOW! is a word that might begin to desrcibe the amazing week we had on the Mountain top at the “Wilds”. God revealed Himself to us through the powerful preaching of brother Ron Degarde, through the music, fellowship with other believers, games, activities, God and I times, and the beauty of His creation all around us. The weather was great all week with only one quick shower on Wednesday afternoon. There were 652 teens at camp, plus 250 Jr. campers next to us and over 100 sponsors. Numerous decisions and committments were made: salvation, assurance, full time Christian service and many others. Our group had 2 decisons for assurance, 1 full time Christian service, one to be a better witness for Christ, and I believe all 11 of them made a committment to be careful what they watch on TV, music they listen to and to spend more time in Gods Word, thus drawing closer to Him. I made the latter committment as well. God speaks to us through many means daily, however with all the distractions of the world, it is hard to hear Him. We learned from our camp experience that we need to spend more time with God in prayer, reading His Word, Bible study and in other words more God and I time. There are no words really to desrcibe all the blessing’s that God showered on us this past week and we are already making plans for next years camp! A very big thank you goes out to all who had a part in making this week a reality. Please don’t forget to check out the pictures from our camp by clicking the photos tab above.

  • Life without Limbs

Hey Guys, This is the last of our series on overcoming life difficulties. Please check out the web-site lifewithoutlimbs.org. this is a powerful story of a man born without arms and legs. He speaks all over the world and thousands of people have come to know christ, because of his testimony that God has given him. For those that were here at our youth meeting last week, you will remember the short clip we watched on this incredible man of God. His web-site is awesome and inspiring! Whenever life throws you a curve, remember that God is in control and He will bring you through any and all of life’s circumstances! Blessing’s, Tim

  • We had a great Youth mtg last week and I wanted to share this video with you that we watched; and then had a time of sharing about how God helps us to overcome all odds. Phil. 4:13, John 16:33 and Heb. 12:1,2 are some verses that I would ask you to look-up and meditate on. There is nothing greater than God and if you have invited Him into your heart and life, there is nothing that you can’t overcome! Check out the link below!God Bless!  Tim
