Worshipping Because Of Christ
29 Aug
Wow! That is the only way I know how to start this article on our awesome trip to the Wilds this year. Once again God’s presence has truly been felt and we were blessed by all the God-focused activities throughout our week at camp. As soon as we turned onto Old Toxaway road, we got excited and we just somehow knew we were about to experience God in a new and fresh way, then we actually saw the Wilds entrance sign the Bus was no longer quiet and peaceful, but rather turned into shouts of joy exclaiming “We’re here!, We’re here! We had arrived and we were ready for whatever God had in store for us!
Last year, I took 11 kids with me on a 15 passenger van and we were cramped to say the least. This year, I took 13 kids and another adult to help out and we rode in the comfort of our brand new church bus. The ride was smooth and we could feel the prayers of our church family for our safety and for our spiritual revival that took place in our hearts. Many thanks to Ms. Pat Tucker for all her help, she was a real trooper and was a tremendous blessing to us all. We also need thank our church family for their giving hearts that enabled every youth that wanted to go to camp the opportunity to go. Lives were changed and you had a part in it as you heard when they gave their testimonies in our Youth-led service.
The Wilds experience is the highlight of our year in the youth group and words just can’t come close to describing all the blessing’s that the camp provides. Decisions such as: being more respectful to parents and authorities, getting closer to God, being a better witness, not to be selfish, to full time Christian service and abstinence were all made this year at camp and with the help of Parents and Church Members, I intend to make every effort to help the youth fulfill these commitments that they have made to our Lord.
Thanks again to all the ones that made this year’s trip to the Wilds possible. It will remain in our memories for a lifetime of what God can do when; whatsoever we do, we do all to the glory of God (I Cor 10:31).
Please check out the Wilds experience on-line at www.wilds.org. If you want to see some of our youth in the pics, just look under the Aug 9-14 teen camp.

Hey Everyone,
There are so many things going on with our Youth Group that I thought I had better post a few of them, so we wouldn ‘t forget. They are already listed on the Activities & Events tab above, but I thought you might be able to access it better from the home page. Anyway, to start off with, we will have a Pancake Supper on Sunday, June 6th @ 5pm before the Awana Awards ceremony. We will need to be here around 3pm to cook and set up the upper fellowship hall. VBS will be June 13-18 and goes through HS, so please be inviting your friends to come and share this special week at Saddle Ridge with us. June 20th is Father’s Day!, do something special for Dad, no evening services this day. July 4th is God Bless America Day at church and youth will be doing several things to help out. July 5-10 World Changers will be here. July 17 & 31 we will have a car wash at Advance in Mayodan to raise funds for camp. July 29 is our annual youth-sponsored Blood Drive in the lower fellowship hall. Aug. 5th is Carowinds - $35.00 each and last but certainly not least is the highlight of the year in youth group, when we go the “Wilds Camp’ Aug. 9-14. As you can see we are staying busy and we are also going to plan a few prayer walks in between these activities. So, please invite your friends to come and be a part of what God is doing in and through the Woodbine Youth Group.
Thanks and have a great summer!
Mr. Tim

Hey Guys, This is the last of our series on overcoming life difficulties. Please check out the web-site lifewithoutlimbs.org. this is a powerful story of a man born without arms and legs. He speaks all over the world and thousands of people have come to know christ, because of his testimony that God has given him. For those that were here at our youth meeting last week, you will remember the short clip we watched on this incredible man of God. His web-site is awesome and inspiring! Whenever life throws you a curve, remember that God is in control and He will bring you through any and all of life’s circumstances! Blessing’s, Tim

We had a great Youth mtg last week and I wanted to share this video with you that we watched; and then had a time of sharing about how God helps us to overcome all odds. Phil. 4:13, John 16:33 and Heb. 12:1,2 are some verses that I would ask you to look-up and meditate on. There is nothing greater than God and if you have invited Him into your heart and life, there is nothing that you can’t overcome! Check out the link below!God Bless! Tim
